Do I Qualify?

Rothstein Law Group's Social Security Disability attorneys have helped clients obtain Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for over 50 years. Under these programs you can receive monthly checks and often medical coverage. If you are not working because of an illness, an injury, or emotional problems, you may be eligible.

There are two programs, with important differences:

SSDI

Social Security Disability Insurance

Who it's for
Workers with a recent work history (and certain dependents).
Key requirement
You've paid into Social Security through FICA payroll taxes.

SSI

Supplemental Security Income

Who it's for
Low-income individuals — regardless of work history.
Key requirement
Based on financial need, with limited income and assets.

To qualify for either program, you must show that a medical condition — expected to last at least a year or to be terminal — keeps you from doing any work you are suited for. Many first-time applicants are denied, often because of insufficient medical proof of a disabling physical or mental impairment. That is where having the right attorney makes the difference.

How Do I Apply?

Marisa and our disability team handle every stage of your claim — often starting before your application is even filed:

1

Gather Medical Records

We compile your complete treatment history and the documentation the SSA needs to see.

2

File or Appeal Your Claim

We submit error-free paperwork directly to the Social Security Administration — and meet every deadline.

3

Hearing Representation

If your case reaches a hearing, we prepare you and represent you in front of the Administrative Law Judge.

Applied and Denied?

Received a Denial Letter? You Only Have 60 Days to Appeal.

Don't miss the deadline — the SSA generally gives you just 60 days from the date on your denial notice to file an appeal. The sooner we start, the stronger your case.
